Team Assessment Tools
How do assessment tools help teams?
Teams produce results that individuals quite often can’t on their own. Today, the workplace is a maze of nested teams - intact, cross-functional, project, virtual - and the pressure is on them to form, perform and reform, at an astonishing rate.
Eluminas is fully accredited in The Team Diagnostic™ Assessment, a state of the art tool, based on a proven model that defines the necessary strengths for high-performing, sustainable and inspired teams.
We also work with the MBTI® and FIRO-B® tools for teams and individuals.
Team Diagnostic™ Assessment
The Team Diagnostic™ model and assessment are based on the latest work in Emotional Intelligence, Appreciative Inquiry, Positive Psychology, change management, and team research conducted at leading universities.
The Team Diagnostic™ Assessment is a unique approach to working with teams that is unlike any in the marketplace. What sets it apart from other methodologies is that it regards the team as a “system,” a living dynamic organism that has characteristics that transcend those of any of the individual members. The spirit of a team infects and influences the individuals and plays a significant role in how the team works together and what the team produces.
Teams exist to produce results. Research shows that the most successful teams have the means in place to take action and they build effective relationships to motivate and sustain action. The Team Diagnostic™ Assessment is built on these two fundamental axes: factors that optimise productivity and factors that promote positivity. Having the tools and materials is not enough to achieve outstanding results without a high level of positive engagement and ways to neutralise negativity.
The Team Diagnostic™ Assessment model defines seven separate productivity factors and seven positivity factors. This constellation of strengths provides a complete picture for high-performing teams.
Team members complete the assessment online and responses are compiled for the whole team. The result is an anonymous and candid report from the team, including their responses to a customized set of open-ended questions. With anonymity protected team members are more frank and the results more revealing.
Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI®) for Teams
The Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI®) is one of the best-known and most widely-used indicators of personality type. It provides individuals and teams with a powerful insight into how they, and others, behave in different situations, and how they most naturally gather information and make decisions.
The MBTI® tool provides a framework for understanding human behaviour and a language to discuss that behaviour in constructive terms. Our team building workshop based on MBTI® helps individuals understand their preferred working style and learn how to work with others in a more effective and positive way.
In the team workshops we combine theory with team exercises and group review. The day begins with the process of team building using the MBTI® profiles. It provides a common foundation on which team members can build more positive relationships and be more appreciative of each other’s preferences and strengths.
The FIRO-B® tool is a personality questionnaire which focuses on how individuals behave towards others, and how they expect others to behave towards them.
Using a simple model of interpersonal relationship styles, the FIRO-B® tool can reveal hidden mismatches between wanted and expressed behaviour, offering profound insights that touch at the heart of an individual's sense of who they are.
This tool looks at three interpersonal 'need areas', identifying sources of tension within an individual's profile. Ambiguities in these areas can be the reason behind complex and difficult relationship issues, so when other tools have not been effective, the FIRO-B® tool is often the answer.
The new awareness gained from using the FIRO-B® tool both increases the chances of an individual's needs being met and helps them manage their impact on others. It also helps them understand what type of workplace they thrive in – which can be a powerful way of keeping people engaged and satisfied.
The FIRO-B® tool is well-suited to both team and one-to-one application including:
- Personal development
- Individual coaching at all levels
- Leadership and management development
- Awareness of fit to future role
- Senior level assessment
- Relationship with stakeholders and clients
- Conflict management
- Raising self-awareness
- Team development
- Interpersonal communication
